Spicy Orange Squash Recipe
This Spicy Orange Squash recipe makes four servings.

What You Need
• 1 small acorn squash, halved
• 1/2 cup water
• 2 tablespoon packed brown sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
• 2 tablespoons melted butter
• Grated zest of 1/2 orange
• Juice of 1 orange, freshly squeezed

What To Do
1. Remove seeds and membranes of squash halves.

2. Place squash cut side up in a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Pour water around squash.

3. Separately, combine brown sugar, salt, pepper, butter, orange zest and orange juice, then pour into squash halves.

4. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, until squash is tender.
