Toss these ingredients in this Beef Stew recipe into your crockpot pot early in the day, and by dinner time a hot, steaming, hearty and delicious Beef Stew will emerge. (Note: this recipe requires a large crockpot.)
What You Need
2 1/2 pounds beef stew meat, cubed
2 medium onions, peeled, quartered
4 carrots, peeled and cut into large chunks
4 celery stalks, cut into chunks
4 potatoes, peeled, and cut into large chunks
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup red wine
2 cans beef broth
12 oz. frozen peas
What To Do
1. Place cubed beef into crockpot first, and sprinkle flour, salt and pepper over the meat. Give it a stir.
2. Add all other ingredients to the crockpot, except for the peas.
3. Cover and cook on low for 7 hours.
4. Open the crockpot and add the peas, turn up to high, and cook another 1 hour.
