Crockpot Spicy Pot Roast Recipe

What You Need
1 5-pound chuck roast
2 tablespoons shortening
1/2 teaspoon thyme
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon vineegar
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cups tomato juice
1 cup chopped onion
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
What To Do
1. Melt shortening in a large skillet and brown roast on all sides. Transfer to slow cooker.
2. In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients, then pour over roast.
3. Cover; cook on high for 6 hours.
4. Strain liquid, then thicken with flour in a saucepan.
